Default Dual internet connections?

I'd like to hook my computer up to two internet connections to decrease the number of disconnects. I know that I've on this forum about special routers that accept two internet connections. But I couldn't find information on it when searching.

Are there any good/bugfree routers that accept two internet connections? Has anyone tried it? How does it actually work, if you lose one of your IP's, does the poker site disconnect you?

good question, ur a step ahead of me knowledge wise but i currently have about 2.5 internet connections. I have wireless signals, my roommates broadband ethernet (i use this mostly) and cellular (w/data cable and laptop that i can use anywhere).

i was thinking there would just be some software that would sort this out so if my ethernet disconnected it wold just go to the next within a few seconds so i dont get mucked, etc. but i guess ur saying u need a router?

Thanks! When I search for load balancing router on Newegg I get only one hit. Do those kinds of routers have an alternative name?

The D-Link hadn't got great reviews. There were many complaints on dual load not working. I also checked out two Linksys routers with dual internet connections. They had also gotten many negative reviews.

How do dual load routers handle themselves in practice? Do you have any experience with them for poker?

there is a thread on here somewhere about a guy who was on party and had a LBR flick from one to the other within 5 seconds.

other sites, from memory, had trouble.

i haven't used a load balancing router, but http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/sh...umber=11397761 seems to be a reasonable discussion

Thanks again! I've decided that I will buy a dual WAN (load balancing) router. It is definitely worth the small extra cost of having a redundant ISP subscription. The only issue now is that I haven't found any router that has gotten great reviews.

Now I'm deciding between three router. (Sorry I don't know how to make pretty links)
d-link: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16833127069
linksys: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...inksys%2brv042
xincom: http://www.amazon.com/Xincom-XC-DPG502-T...0919&sr=8-1

If anyone has any thoughts about any of these routers, or other routers, that can help me decide, then that would be of great help! Thanks!
