Default State of the Union Address

AP

The State of the Union address is scheduled for 9 Eastern tonight. Word is, Bush will focus mostly on domestic policy, rolling out health care, tax and energy independence initiatives. I find it a little odd that it looks like the Surge is being downplayed. Bush is hanging his hat on the plan to solve our most important issue.

How about he talk about the record number of US Military deaths in the last few days. I'm sure they will have some parent of a soldier in the crowd for everyone to applaud.

The "surge" is just to turn the focus away from the escalation of a whole in the US/Israeli vs. Iran conflict.

As much as i like Webb i think they should have chosen a better public speaker to respond. But Webb is more of an everyday man then most so i suppose the Democrats want to continue to hit home with the Middle Class and the Anti-War folk.

I was debating playing a drinking game while watching this, instead I decided to just drink and shake my head.
