ABC News: Ron Paul is Money!

[/ QUOTE ] "If Texas Republican Ron Paul's website fundraising meter is to be believed"

[/ QUOTE ]

The also call him the "libertarian candidate" later in that sentence, but overall a good article. I'm anxious to see how widespread this gets in the media tomorrow!

Well thats where they get the information from, that one source and since they are not able to verify that information it is wise on their part to state that what they are reporting on relies solely on the validity of the fundraising meter. Is it wrong when media does not present every statement from an outside source as fact?

Also, Check out the pic they use. Someone a few days ago opined that big media picks out Ron Paul's worse pictures to use in their articles.

I think I believe him now:

Given the overall tone of the article I think that wording is just a writing device and not some underhanded way to downplay RP. IMO that was a fair article, a pretty accurate description of what has happened so far. Other than calling him the libertarian candidate, but whatever.

Not at all. As mentioned, overall it's a good positive article. But generally, I'd say it's the reader's responsibility to be, let's say, diligent in being sure they aren't being duped by fake numbers. If people did that more often, Frank Luntz (sp?) would be out of a job.

Frankly, I think its a little sketchy that they're reporting the amount at all without at least calling the Paul campaign to confirm the accruacy of the website. And I thought the reason you guys liked him was because he was the libertarian candidate?

If CNN is reporting a fundraising number they are getting straight from a candidates page, they have to denote that somehow. I get as pissed off as anyone when the media marginalizes and treats RP unfairly, but complaining about something like this is grasping for straws and intentionally trying to be insulted.

Awesome tv ad. Too bad the campaign doesn't do something like this!

The pace has not slowed down as it's already up to $6.1 million! At this rate maybe $7 million isn't out of reach!
