rolling stone has a track by track preview where you can listen to most tracks via youtube videos of live performances. The sound quality is pretty low, but it will at least give you a chance to hear it before you buy it.

I bought the discbox before hearing samples.

People who pay for this are really dumb.
A) You can get it for free, so it is irrational.
B) If you felt like giving the money giving it to charity or something would make a lot more sense than giving it to Radiohead.

so it's irrational to want to pay people for their work?

is it irrational to tip? I mean the Red Cross could use the money more than that bartender.

Yes, but the tip is an implied part of the service and is paid based on the expectancy that you will get good service in the future. You are held accountable for not tipping.

There is no accountability here.

[/ QUOTE ]It's the same accountability. If this pricing model doesn't work, Radiohead (and other bands) won't do it again. If it does work, more bands will start doing it.

It also keeps the money out of the hands of the scumbag record labels who helped ruin the music industry in the first place. I'm happy to kick down $10 bucks for the "free" download.
