Ironman cutting into your rakeback

My friend told me just having the iron man promotion enabled and racking up medals cuts into your rakeback. This isnt true right? RB only takes a hit when you use your medals for other bonuses?

Such as:

1) Playing in the Ironman Freerolls
2) Converting Medals to FTPs and spending the FTPs in the FT Store
3) Playing in Guauranteed Prize pool Tournys using Tokens purchased with Medals (provided there is an overlay due to the number of players registered)

Using Ironman Medals directly within the Ironman Store does not affect Rakeback (at least according to a post by FTDoug several months ago).

OK this is news to me so what is the best thing to do about ironman, dont opt in? Or is it still better to opt in?

Also what to do with the ironman medals?
Is it better to use them say for the 600 bonus and grind the bonus or is it better to save up and convert them to points for the big screen tv i have my eye on?

D5, u have to opt into the challenge and when u do, ur presented with the options of either taking the freeroll or the bonus medals in addition to the regular medals u earn during the course of the month...

ftpdoug said more additions are planned for the iron man and the regular store, so for now, i would just hold onto them and see what they do...

also, i wouldn't convert the medals until u actually can get enough pts for the tv or whatever it is u want...imo
