well i can tell you that this one aint a bluff in a sense that you probably dont have the best hand even if he doesnt have KJ

Yeah, this should be a fold. The thing is that even if he just had the NFD, he hit an ace on the river and will be less likely to bluff for the pot. Occasionally, he'll have J9 with a weak flush draw or even a naked K-hi flush draw or something, but it's not that likely. The fact that we have two diamonds makes a bluff less likely as well. This is almost always KJ or a bluff and I'd say KJ makes up about 80% of that range.

Im mostly just checking turn vs ppl that wait for safe turn with top2 on such boards, that will often c/r if i bet.

checking the flop is also an option as you are not necessarily in great shape if you get c/r on either the flop or turn, but as others have aluded to i think a turn check is probably the most prudent option here

betting the flop is def mandantory imo, and I def prefer betting the turn.
