You also dont have to tip at hotel restaurants and other places where they add 15 % "for your convenience" but people do anyway...If a person does a good job would it really kill you to throw a few bucks more?

I mean cmon...I know that not tipping makes a statement against the rake or whatever but you cash for $6753834760948394534 would it really hurt u that much to throw the dealers some more money, consdeirng the abuse they put up with? Yeah you dont HAVE to and no one should tell you you should but....gee whiz you make a million dollars playing poker for gods sake and these dealers have had to sit there breathing in god knows what diseases and getting yelled at for things that arent their fault in 317263 different languages.

bah...whatever dont listen to me i am obv a huge softee.

sheets

I know this was how it was in the past but if I had to put up with this now Id end up smaking some idiot and getting fired. If there are no regs for this bullsmack then a player will get whats coming to him.

I [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] these tipping threads, just chock full of entertainment. Like this gem:

[ QUOTE ]
How many tournaments does Dan bust out of between these "great financial windfalls"? Why is it your business if he tips in addition to what is already withheld? How are we supposed to know where the 3% withholding (in this case) goes when the casinos often refuse to divulge this info? Why do people in the payout room disrespect Dan's privacy and post his tipping decision on a public forum?

[/ QUOTE ]
OMG just so damn funny when you read it out loud.

Damn, that is pretty funny if you read it out loud. Especially if you use an angry voice...

It's hard to argue with this, and congrats on the finish, Mike.

Thank you.

Just for our information, can you describe how the option to tip was presented this year? Did anyone mention the tip when you were cashing out? In past years at the Bike, when there was no withholding for staff, they made a point of mentioning it when we were cashing out. I guess I prefer it the old way, but I'm sure it's worse for the staff.

[/ QUOTE ]

When I finished in the money last year, they mentioned that if I wanted to leave any for the staff, this would be a good time. I was unprepared and didn't know if any had been taken out, so I left a tip.

I'm still not sure whether or not they took some out beforehand last year, but was more prepared this time. The procedure was identical this year... paid in chips, then a mention that if I'd like to leave any for the staff, he would make sure to distribute it properly. My reply this year was to make certain that 3% had been withheld for service, and that I felt this fee was appropriate.

People should quit being money nits and tip, especially after a 1.3 million win. Not like $20 bucks is going to kill your +EV.

I think tippin should be optional, but if your not going to tip, you should tell your waiter/dealer before he serves you, only fair

No, first the waiter/dealer should tell you whether or not they plan on giving bad service, then you should tell them whether you plan on tipping.
