AK facing raise and re-raise.
Full Tilt Poker
No Limit Holdem Ring game Blinds: $15/$30 9 players Converter Stack sizes: UTG: $2775 UTG+1: $2910 MP1: $2295 MP2: $4050 MP3: $3090 CO: $2610 Button: $2910 SB: $3405 Hero: $2955 Pre-flop: (9 players) Hero is BB with K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 2 folds, MP1 raises to $60, 4 folds, SB raises to $210, Hero raises to $700, MP1 folds, SB calls. Flop: 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] ($1460, 2 players) SB checks, Hero bets $900, SB raises to $1800, Hero folds. Uncalled bets: $900 returned to SB. Results: Final pot: $3260 MP1 has been min raising with stuff like KJ UTG so he is probably weak. no read on SB but if he's paying attention to what MP1 is doing he could have a fairly wide range. I didn't like calling because that would put me in a bad position postflop assuming MP1 calls which I was pretty sure he would. Should I just check behind on the flop? |

AKo isn't called "walking back to Houston" for nothing.
You grossly overplayed your hand. |

i would bomb it enough PF that i can push the flop, or just call [/ QUOTE ] OP's bet sizes are bad in that they don't make for easy decisions at later points. You actually have a close decision when SB miniraises the flop. SB probably has JJ/QQ, since he didn't put a 4th raise in preflop. You are getting 3.5-1 pot odds to put the rest of the money in, and you are better than that against 99-QQ, which there is about a 70% chance he has. Villain could have AK or AA/KK. He could also have a pp plus straight draw or a set. There is some chance he has a weaker high card hand. Obviously, the fact that villain miniraised rather than pushed is a bad sign. I think you may be ahead of pot odds against villain's range. You have a close decision. This means you should have bet more on the flop or bet less on the flop so you would have an easy decision to a raise. Also, I might check behind on the flop and take a freecard, hoping to make TPTK. Preflop also, either flat call or bet enough so that it is easy to commit the rest on any flop. You have position against SB, who is the likely caller, so you can't set up a push of any flop. However, you need to make a larger reraise or flat call. In this situation, I really think a flat call preflop is best. |
