Random jobs. I used to load trucks at UPS. I enjoy that kind of work. Go back and do that. Maybe join a lawn mowing crew. And, of course, take plenty of sabbaticals. [/ QUOTE ] To each his own, but the notion that someone with unlimited financial means would load trucks for UPS on a volunteer basis and do other people's yard work strains credibility, to say the least. |

Re: What would you do if you didn\'t need money?
I'd love to drive around the country with a good friend, and film our adventure. Kinda like Bourdain or Alton Brown. I'd try to eat all the good food this country has to offer. Definitely don't need millions to do this.

Re: What would you do if you didn\'t need money?
I really enjoy doing work like this and would probably do something like that, at least for a little while, if I was really wealthy. for me I would be a line cook or paint houses, both things I did when I was in high school/college.

Re: What would you do if you didn\'t need money?
[ QUOTE ]
Before I left Chiang Mai, Thailand I started a project like this. I realized after talking to tons of locals that they in general agreed on who had the best of nearly every common dish there. So I compiled a list and went to about 15 places, writing down for English-speakers where to find them, how to read the stall/menu in Thai and how to order in Thai. I would love to expand that idea for tons of other food/cultures worldwide. [/ QUOTE ] You should do this!! |

Re: What would you do if you didn\'t need money?
I would be an artisanal ham maker, producing various styles of Spanish dry cured hams; run a ranch with my own pigs, all super high end small batch so it's not too much work and I can charge a fortune.
I love high end food and working small farms; doing that out in the country somewhere beautiful would be my dream. Hard physical work but also mental and not too hard like real farming is. |

They had a legitimate mexican restaurant, the best burger place in Thailand (by miles, I ate there twice in one day), and a good barbecue and ribs joint run by an old retired navy guy from Alabama who was awesome and it felt like home. Even had cornbread and hushpuppies |

Re: What would you do if you didn\'t need money?
I'd go into a good restaurant and tell the waiter, "gimme one of every item on the menu" and eat like a king
I'd hire bodyguards, and then carry lots of cash with me so whenever I wanted to give it to random people I could and not worry about safety. Sex lots of hot chicks. Help worthy causes. Buy a mansion in New York City consisting of a series of subterranean caves and fight crime while wearing a black cape and mask with pointy ears... |
