50NL - I hit my straight on a terrible board
Villain is a donkey, 47/2/2 over 194 hands.
Poker Stars, $0.25/$0.50 NL Hold'em Cash Game, 5 Players LegoPoker Hand History Converter BTN: $21.75 SB: $50.15 BB: $50.75 Hero (UTG): $64.55 CO: $41.45 Pre-Flop: K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] dealt to Hero (UTG) Hero raises to $2, CO calls $2, 2 folds, BB calls $1.50 Flop: ($6.25) T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 Players) BB checks, Hero bets $4, CO calls $4, BB folds Turn: ($14.25) 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 Players) Hero bets $6.50, CO raises to $13, Hero calls $6.50 River: ($40.25) 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 Players) Hero checks, CO bets $22.45 and is All-In, Hero...? He could obviously have AK or a flush, but what I'm more concerned with is if my line is spewy, and if I'm ever good often enough to call the river getting ~3:1. At best, he overplays a set or two pair, or has a lower straight. He's a donkey, so I can't put that past him. Call the river? |

Re: 50NL - I hit my straight on a terrible board
First off your flop bet needs to be bigger. I'd probably bet $6.50 here as that's one of the worst flops to see. I'd probably just push the turn... he's paying you off w/an 8, set, maybe even A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (or your chopping w/another king) more than you're behind and you don't want another spade to drop.

Re: 50NL - I hit my straight on a terrible board
$6.50 seems like I'd be overbetting the flop. Also, you didn't answer the ultimate question: As played, what's my move on the river?

Re: 50NL - I hit my straight on a terrible board
I guess I'd call since he can have hands you beat... he could think a set/2p/lower straight are good here since he's a donk.
Also yes, you would be overbetting the pot, which is good on super drawy flops like this one. |

Re: 50NL - I hit my straight on a terrible board
Looks to me as if you are ahead or both has straight. I don't think he is drawing to an ace high flush here because I don't see him min raising the turn rather then seeing a free card.
If he had the flush on the flop, I would see him betting more on the turn in case you have the As. I don't see AK because he cold called preflop with position My guess is he probably has the Ks or 9s. I would call as you would chop or win. |

Re: 50NL - I hit my straight on a terrible board
i think the river is a call. you have the 3rd nuts, and opponent doesn't have AK, so you have the 2nd best hand here, hard to give them credit for a flopped flush also, and he only started with an 80bb stack.

Re: 50NL - I hit my straight on a terrible board
awful board, and a min turn raise makes it look worse. i think you have push or fold the turn.
flushes will not slow down (not really worried about ak), and hes not gonna fold any hand but complete air. |

I agree that the turn is where we need to make our decision. As played I am calling the river.
