Immediate Legal Advice Needed

This might sound like a joke, but it certainly is not.

Ive been busy preparing my taxes. My mother just called me on my cell phone. It seems that a few hours ago, Saturday night on the East Coast, a couple of teenagers kept driving up and down on my block for whatever reason. We live in the suburbs, about an hour outside of Orlando, so we have our fair share of crystal meth addicted 14 year olds. One of them is related to a women in my Mother's office building. Apparently they found him snorting crank off of a hunting knife and now he is out of juvenille hall. My Mom isnt entirely sure if this was one of the kids in the car of not, but my brother thinks he saw him. Anyways she thinks they were trying to find someone's house. She was in the middle of serving a ham dinner. My dad was sitting on the computer in our living room which looks out to the front of our property. Well they ended up driving by our house and ripping our mail box off, which isnt the first time this happened. So my dad take a baseball bat out there (not saying that its not wrong what he did, but these kids are the at-risk types). If you know my dad he isnt the violent type. I think he just wanted to scare them, but one way another he ended up impaling the oldest teen in the head with the baseball bat. My mom said she heard a very loud bang like a pumpkin exploding. Well by the time she got outside my dad was sitting on the ground looking up at the sky like an astronomer or something(like he couldnt deal with what just happened, yet was so calm and looked so wise in a philisophical pose). The polie of course came and put my father under arrest. He says that he was just trying to swing the bat over this kid's head, which is not smart but also not incredibly unreasonable. Im catching a flight home in an hour. So strange, just needed to talk about this. Also, I guess legal advice would be good.

He shouldn't say anything to anybody and get him a lawyer as soon as possible. It is of utmost importance that he keep his mouth shut.

I asked my Mom this two times, but she didn't answer. I dont want to push it right now. I am going to wait until I am there to get more details.

I don't think you mean impaling. Anyway. what happened to the kid? Is he dead, seriously injured?

Whether or not your dad is criminally liable depends on the exact circumstances of what happened. His best defense would be that he was acting in self defense, which may or may not be plausible given how this thing went down. But regardless of what happened your dad should not say ANYTHING to the police and he should assert his 5th Amendment right immediately.
