Default Make straight on river, but opponent shoves over my raise.

Full Tilt Poker - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $1/$2 Blinds - 4 Players - (LegoPoker Hand History Converter)

SB: $153.35
Hero (BB): $258.40
UTG: $99.05
BTN: $73.00

Reads: Villain is 24/6 over almost 200 hands. He loves to limp call, especially blind on blind. I've been raising his limps a ton. I just picked off a bluff in the blinds 4 hands ago. I checked behind when I flopped my ace weak kicker. Then called full pot bets on the turn and river. He showed 44 in that hand. I maybe should of raised the turn, but as played... what do you do. BTW, you always make this river raise right? He's going to do this with tons of 2 pair hands that will look me up, but I guess it opens myself up to getting shoved on.

Preflop: Hero is dealt 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (4 Players)
2 folds, SB calls $1.00, Hero checks

Flop: ($4) Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 Players)
SB checks, Hero checks

Turn: ($4) T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 Players)
SB bets $4.00, Hero calls $4.00

River: ($12) J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 Players)
SB bets $12.00, Hero raises to $30.00, SB raises all-in to $147.35

Pot Size: $189.35

why would you raise in this spot?? what are you hoping to get paid by 2 pair? by doing this you put yourself in a precarious position when he shoves and personally i think it's too thin to be worth it

Why do you want to voluntarily play a marginal hand out of position? Fold preflop or raise. K9 is the only real hand that beats you. Call.

Im calling and if he has K9 I shoot myself.

I assume even with 6% pfr hes still raising AK in this spot v often.

He does like to bluff so...

Yea, I just checked. I guess I could just open fold the turn, but that seems really bad. I'm also in the BB, so I have position.

And yes, K9 is the only hand that beats me. I'm trying to figure out if it's worth calling or not. I'm sorry if this came out sarcastic, but I came to the forums because I'm 100% lost on this hand and everything you say is wrong, or obvious.

I would love to here your opinion since anything is better than my nothing.

I think this is a really obvious raise. I made my set on the river against someone that bluffs bad hands on bad boards and there's only 1 hand that beats me. The river also completed every 2 pair hand in existence that he limps. TJ, QT, QJ, etc. I obviously felt stupid when he shoved, but I think that is such a small % of the time, that my raise is +EV.

Once he shoves though what are the odds of him having K9, compared to a 9, compared to 2Pair/Bluff and do I have pot odds to make the call.

I'm honestly 100% unsure what to do.

the river raise is absolutely fine.

but after getting shoved here, you are splitting or losing almost always. if you split, you get back $27, and you would have to risk $117 to see if it is indeed a split.

id just fold it.
