[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] The line he took is pretty strange. I can't really put him on a hand, [/ QUOTE ] how about KJo or AJo with a club? [/ QUOTE ] Any reasoning that you have for not raising earlier in the hand with one of those holdings makes villain's river raise very questionable IMO. [/ QUOTE ] is it just you and me who think this? I couldn't decide if it was questionable enough. Then I ran out of time and panicked. Not sure more time would have helped me. |

[/ QUOTE ] standard for us uberlags [/ QUOTE ] Against a different villain, the PF cap is ok, I guess, but a straight up tag isn't 3-betting you with 66 or A6s here like ever - even if he's making a play with 98s still just a flip. [ QUOTE ] you not in the showdown monkey camp? [/ QUOTE ] If I had played this hand, my line would have been call 3-betl, c/c on 3 streets as the cards fell. Yeah, I get valuetowned a little, but I also get 3-barreled and win a little... |

Re: whats this river raise?
coin flip to the river. getting that 98s to put in another bet preflop only to fold the flop a majority of the time or getting KQs out before the river is a big bonus. capping can only be bad if you're a big dog or he's going to play you off your hand often after you cap pf. most won't, and most btn ranges vs. a co open are wide enough that these factors become pretty significant - at least significant enough to begin the debate on whether it covers the equity deficit preflop (which you surely have).

[/ QUOTE ] this is good advice against normal tags. chezlaw (OP), on the other hand is like 18/14 so his CO opening range is similar to our UTG opening ranges. So when he gets 3-bet by anybody decent who has stats on him and isn't tilting, 77 is behind. I don't know if danza was taking this into account, but im pretty sure sethypooh was. Also, sethypooh, you're folding 66 otb when chezlaw opens in CO? |

[/ QUOTE ] nah you cap kinda light (at least you have a few times against me). btw, in general i think you play well postflop and with the number of table-hours you put in, I bet you make more money than 90% of the posters on this forum. |

Re: whats this river raise?
yep that's the other end of it. also chezlaw isn't 18/14, lol. i guarantee people are routinely 3-betting his CO opens with a wide range.
