Shopping Around for Cheap Domain Names and Hosting
I'm totally new to this, and have been working on my first site. I hope to have more sites in the future. Would you recommend a good hosting site?
I have been checking out DreamHost.com. For $110.00 for the whole year I would get 200gb disk and 2tb bw(what ever that means?)? What do you think? Thanks so much!!! |

Re: Shopping Around for Cheap Domain Names and Hosting
I think the 2tb bw means 2 terabytes of bandwidth. So each time somebody accesses your site with a browser a certain number of bytes of data traverse the hosting company's internet pipe.
Also for instance if somebody downloads a 3mb files it would add 3mb to the amount used of your allocated yearly bandwidth. If people accessing your site causes the bandwidth used to exceeds 2tb traffic to your site stops. 2tb is a lot for most private sites btw |

Re: Shopping Around for Cheap Domain Names and Hosting
dreamhost is highly recommended, so is hostgator.
I doubt you'll get anywhere close to 2tb or even a tenth of that if you just have a content based site. I can get you enom domain names for $8.95/yr if you like. Let me know. |
