Default semi-bluff vs lag

opponent is 40/27, pretty lag.

i guess my question is on the turn, are we folding out any better hands? is it really a big deal to try and protect our hand against hands that may be drawing pretty live? pair+overcard, potential flush draw, draw to chop? do we gain more by just calling and giving him the option to bluff the river?

I like this play, against a 40/27 you may already have the best hand. You're probably not going to make him fold the best hand. But it's gotta be close to a coin flip if he has tens up or and overpair.

This push will also set you up later on so the lag will stack off to you lighter later on in the session.

Yeah I like the push here too. I'm thinking you have the best hand here a good amount of the time, plus if you don't you have outs and it builds image. How aggro is he postflop btw?

if our opponent is playing 40/27, does an image play really have that much value?

if we're not folding a better hand, and folding a lot of his potential bluffing hands, while getting it in with 30% equity vs better hands, wouldn't that be a big mistake? i guess it comes down to how often he'll call with worse vs a crai on the turn (and wouldn't be willing to bluff with it on the river), but does that outweigh giving him rope to bluff the river?
