Trip queens on a dangerous board. How did I play them?
This was a tough board to play for me with the many straight
possibilities. By the river I was invested enough that I'd have to call but if he was on a draw he might fold if I raised so I checked with the intention to call his last bet as that would presumably be optimum? How do you think the hand played out? do you check the river? Re: Trip queens on a dangerous board. How did I play them?
If you're going to cbet, I think you need to make it about $2 on the flop. Your flop bet looks like a feeler bet. I also bet more on the turn. I probably pot it. You're only behind AJ and KK but the board is very draw heavy. Make him pay to see the river.
As played I probably call the river as well just because of the money already in the pot; although I think Villain has the straight ~80% of the time. |

Re: Trip queens on a dangerous board. How did I play them?
hand looks fine.
Unfortunately for that bet size on the river you have to call, in case he is being stupid with aces up. If he had like ~$6+ the decision is alot more difficult. |

[/ QUOTE ] Luckily he was all in so I didn't have to make that decision Thanks for the replies guys. I think I agree the c-bet should have been slightly larger especially. Once again 2+2 members rock If it interests you, he was holding 79 of diamonds |

Re: Trip queens on a dangerous board. How did I play them?
I'm also in the "best more on the flop" camp. At least $3.
As others have said, nothing else you can do on the river because of all the times he has AK/AQ/AT/KQ/KT/TT/88/junk. |
