Madtown was a real possibility for a while, but I guess he came back.

I'm just haunting the place. I'm really dead.

... god, how sad would it be to die and end up haunting OOT?

On the bright side, it would prove that purgatory does, in fact, exist.

Great post, Duke. I've often wondered the same thing.

I also have contemplated whether anyone on 2+2 would notice if I died. I'm guessing not.

Duke,

A related question is, which ones would you really care if they were dead?

I can pretty honestly say that for most people here that I "like" but haven't met IRL, if I found out they died, I would be like "that sucks" and then probably never think of them again.

I can't think of anyone who I haven't met in person that if they were to be gone it would make me genuinely sad.

Anyone who knows people in real life from the boards would probably have the word passed on here. If you don't, then yeah, I could read your obituary and not know who you were.

OP,

Some OOTers are dead to me, which is good enough.

No Steve Irwins on here, that's for sure.

I think that people need to somehow exhibit a zest for life to have their death really affect people who didn't know them personally. That's a tough commodity to convey through a board where clever wit and keen insults trump all.

I'm not saying that that's a bad thing, just that it doesn't lend itself to sharing any sort of that stuff that makes people wish you would never leave.
