Default Re: OOP Against a LAG, checkraise semibluff?

Fold preflop. Given the call this is an easy push.

Planning to float a lag oop with K9s isn't a good idea.

Assuming I won't go broke with a 2nd best one pair hand, why not? A float is a bluff that exploits a lag's tendancy to bet weak hands. If I know my opponent well enough to know that he will fold if I re-raise him unless he has the top of his very wide range, isn't this exactly who you should be floating?

I'm not floating because I like my hand. I'm floating because I know that the opponent usually doesn't like his. The fact that I chose to do it with K8s just gives me an escape hatch in case I chose a time when he actually had something.

but every pot against this opponent is a rr pot

i'm not trying to be argumentative, i'm just trying to get past the cliches and really talk about floating a little more.

edit: plus if you never float a rr pot, thats exploitable too. all i have to do is fold every time you raise if i dont have the nuts.

In order to adjust to this goon, do a couple things
1)Tighten up your opening range a bit
2)Open up your 4betting range a bit
3)C/R liberally in 3bet pots if he's firing a lot of cbets.

Calling OOP with garbage pre with the intention of 'outplaying him' post is burning money.
As played preflop, your line is perfect.
