Default Theory and Practice or...

I figured posting this here might actual get some responses since people don't read the books forum...

I've played my fair share of online NL and limit as well as a lot of live limit, but before I dive into my first live 1-2 NL game I thought I should check out one of these books. (The limit books certainly helped my game)

So having never read a NL specific book would you reccomend Theory and Practice or Professional Volume 1? Or would it be beneficial to just get both?

In general they are. however you can get a lot out of both of these books. I think they are imprtnat for newer players. I learned a lot from them.

Not that you shouldn't read them (I have T+P, not the other)
but 2+2 posts quite honestly are worth A LOT more than any book out there.
I know Sklansky and Miller are intelligent men who are good poker players, but these forums are just infinitely more relevant

For low-limit live NL games Angel Largay's book "A complete course in no limit texas holden" is also good. Its mis-titled - its anything but a complete course - but its very good at small live NL games.

I like Professional NLHE Vol 1 better, but I agree that both are good. And I learn better from reading the books, although there is great advice on the forums too.

This book is targetted at the low limit NLHE games and is very relevant to what you are looking to learn.
