Hero?

Read on HJ: Seen him slowplay a straight on the flop with 2 spades on board.

Was this a full-ring game? If so, I usually fold QJs PF. Sometimes I could call in a loose, passive game. If it is short-handed, open raising seems fine.

I'd usually bet the flop with just one LP player and the BB. But this would be problematic as the flop is one that almost ceratainly hasn't helped you. Your opponents could/should know that.

There seem to be 2 Qcs in the deck. I think the turn is obviously a good bet.

As for the river, I so often struggle in situations like this. I'd be interested to hear what others feel is correct here. Have to say I often reraise here but it would depend on the opponent. Given the read you gave, I'm leaning towards a call here.

Oh yeah, live. I missed that. This guy probably has flopped trips. But what about online? Under what conditions should we raise?

I threebet this river against most if not all online players. Also OP you need to bet the flop. It would take a particularly weird kind of fish for me not to threebet the river online.

the check on the flop scares me the most, I smell a 4, calldown time.

I never considered a reraise, but I heavily considered folding. He seemed like the type of player that recently learned how to slowplay and doesn't understand the importance of betting with flush and straight draws out there.

That card must have been the Qs as I certainly had the Qc and there was no flush possible.

Also the table was 7 handed and unsually passive with normal loose players.

I called and he turned over A/4 off.

Like I said I always get scared because people ALWAYS slowplay when they flop trips so after he checks and shows a bunch of interest later i smell a 4.
