Tenny gave me this idea and I am sure she will chime in here and post a few good ones.

Here is one from today...

Her: Sir I need to know my balance today?!?
Me: Ok may I have your account #?
Her: Gives me account number.
Me: Tells her what her balance is
Her: Ok so thats what my balance will be tomorrow?
Me: [img]/images/graemlins/confused.gif[/img] No thats what it is now...ugh
Her: Oh okay, thanks...

My favorite from the day after Thanksgiving:

Me: Thanks for calling XXX how may I help you?
Her: I was just calling to see if you guys are open today?
Me: [img]/images/graemlins/confused.gif[/img] Yes we are... (Thinking to myself: No, I am just here to let you know we are closed)
Her: Oh okay, thank you just making sure.

A call from a Rep today:

Him: "What's the weather like?"
Me: Cold
Him: Cold? You don’t sound excited. That's it? Cold?
Me: It's New England and it's February, what else would it be like?
Him: Ok. Ok.

I just need to rail on you a little bit for this. How else should they find out? When you pick up should they just hang up on you?

First one is solid.

Second one seems pretty reasonable. Not many people realize that financial institutions are open on black Friday.

I find myself in the second situation a lot and what i just do is ask for their hours. Saves me from having to ask if they are open.

I think the second one is at least partially okay. She called to see if the bank was open that day and someone picked up on the other end. The alternative is a somewhat awkward, "Oh, I was seeing if you were open today, you obviously are, so I'll hang up the phone now."

Well when we have signs up all over the bank and when you call the 800# its says we are only closed Thanksgiving Thursday and you get approx. 10-15 calls (maybe more because those are the ones I answered) that day it was very frustrating.

My friend works as an accountant in payroll. They have a huge giant sign that says 'EXPENSE REPORTS HERE' that hangs from the ceiling w/ a bin underneath labled 'EXPENSE REPORTS'.

Anyway a guy that works there (not new) comes up to the other girl my friend works with and asks where his expense report should go.

"Um, you see that sign right over there?"
"OOOH...that's says 'expense reports' I'm such an idiot."

Turns around and places his expense report on my friends desk and walks away.

not a customer convo but good none the less. People are idiots. And A-holes.
