Default top 50 players in NBA history

So I'm sure many of you are old enough to remember when this list came out (lol only 11 years ago)

http://www.nba.com/history/players/50greatest.html

I have a feeling that when the 75th birthday comes along, they'll do the top 75 at 75, because it would be too much of a burn to remove people from the 50. But I want to do that in this forum today. In your opinion, who is in, and who is out ?

You only get 50, maybe just list the a group of X players you feel would get the boot, and those who go in.

I'll start by who I'm taking out:

Worthy, Lucas, Lenny Wilkins, Sam Jones, Wes Unseld, John Havlicek, Hall Greer, Bill Sharman, Dolph Schayes, Dave DeBusschere, Earl Monroe (that breaks my heart).

Ok I scrap 11 of them. Enter:

Tim Duncan, Allen Iverson, Steve Nash, Kevin Garnett, Tracy McGrady, Kobe Bryant, Dirk Nowitzki , Ray Allen, Jason Kidd, Chris Webber, Gary Payton

obviously there are some players in the next few years poised to bump others out (Wade, Boozer, James), but I don't think they are there yet. And no, Reggie Miller and Vince Carter didn't make my cut...

I don't know a ton about basketball stats but am surprised that you would say that Ray Allen is "greater" than Reggie Miller.

Is that standard?

I would take off Dirk, Nash, and Ray Allen. Webber's debatable. I'd say all of them are top 75, though.

Adrian Dantley needs to be in this top 50.

Iverson's overrated and may not belong, but he's close.

Ray Allan career stats:

24.9 ppg, 4.8 ast, 4.8 rb, 1.3 st

Reggie: 18, 3, 3, 1,1

Seems pretty clear to me who is better.

And take off Dirk ? Man his stats are siiiiick, and are only trending upwards. He's in every top 10 forwards list on the net.

You take out Havlicek to put in Ray Allen? What's wrong with you?

woah I dunno how I missed you saying to take off Nash.

What ?

Ok you do realize that he could be 3 time mvp, and finally win a ring. If he does that, he's the second greatest point guard behind only Magic. I mean the 3 time mvp alone is going to put him as one of the top THREE greatest point guards of all time.
Iverson's overrated and may not belong, but he's close.

Miller was better than Ray Allen by a solid margin. He was also way better than McGrady. The OP is way too high on a bunch of guys that are still playing.

Oops meant to post this instead of edit:

Stats:
Miller, Allen
Games: 1389, 790
Minutes/game - 34.3, 37.5
FG% (sorry GKA) - .471,.446
3 point % - .395, .397
FT% - .888, .888
Rebounds - 3.0, 4.6
Assists - 3.0, 3.9
Steals - 1.08, 1.3
Blocks - .2, .1
TO - 1.73, 2.46
Assist/TO - 1.73, 1.59
PPG - 18.2, 21.5
Points per minute - .531, .573

As I said, I'm not an expert and I know some people here are so I'd like their opinion. Looking at it, Allen appears to be slightly more productive in terms of scoring and maybe a touch better defensively, but he turns the ball over more. Looks about even statistically so you'd have to give the edge to Miller due to longevity. One thing about this is that Reggie Miller played 4 seasons more than Allen has played and he was less productive so that has lowered his averages. He averaged 16.5, 12.6, 10, and 14.8 points per game in those four seasons, all below his career average. If Allen stays at it expect his numbers to fall below Miller's.

TMac, Iverson and Webber don't belong. Iverson's the closest. Webber is nowhere near. TMac could get there provided he stays healthy.
