Re: Neteller Prepaid Card- worth it?
I've got the card, in NZ it's this one
www.first-pay.com If you withdraw at an ATM & the ATM vig is 2.5%, does neteller add 1.9% to that? |

Re: Neteller Prepaid Card- worth it?
Ive never had one of these cards, but have used neteller and verified my account. I had a neteller a/c with an Israeli address (as I work there and spend approx 6 months a year there) but neteller has now blocked Israel due to legislation.
They will let me change my a/c to a UK account and will give me the prepaid card - will I be able to get a dollar account? I will mainly be withdrawing in Israel - whats the best way for me to set up my account so I pay the least transaction/exchange fees? Would it be best to get a dollar account (as opposed to a UK pound account), withdraw in dollars and then exchange on my own? I will only rarely be withdrawing in the UK. Sorry about the slightly derailing question, but I am clueless when it comes to these things. Thanks for any advice... |

Re: Neteller Prepaid Card- worth it?
I'm not sure if this is the answer you were looking for. But you withdraw in whatever currency the ATM use. If you are in Germany the ATM gives you euro, in USA it gives you USD. So I guess you would get sheqel (had to look that up on Wikipedia) if you use it in Israel.

Re: Neteller Prepaid Card- worth it?
Yes, but at what rate?
For example, I have a US CitiBank card for a dollar denominated checking account. If I withdraw euros from an ATM in Europe, then CitiBank does the dollar-euro conversion at the current bulk exchange rate + 1.5% approxiamtely, which is very fair. Does the current card from Neteller work the same way? And at a comparable rate? |

Re: Neteller Prepaid Card- worth it?
Thanks for the reply. I should have been clearer - I am able to also withdraw in US dollars in Israel. Is there any benefit to having a dollar neteller account (rather than UK pounds) and withdrawing in dollars in Israel? Or UK pound account and withdrawing in dollars or shekels? I just want to make sure im setting up the account in the best way...
Thanks again... |

Re: Neteller Prepaid Card- worth it?
I think you have to contact Neteller about this matter. Don't worry, their support is suprisingly good.

Re: Neteller Prepaid Card- worth it?
Thanks - yep, ive sent them an email. Just wanted to know re exchange rates, etc... I suppose that the principle is always that the least number of foreign exchange transactions that takes place, the better...
Thanks again for the replies - greatly appreciated. |
