FU Full Ring, i like 6-max now (mini brag)

I lurk here quite a bit and my friend reckoned this was BBV worthy. This is a cross post from my blog.

After getting back from Vegas i still had a healthy bankroll but unfortunately ran like death for about 2 months. My roll was decimated and so was my confidence. The bad run had started the downswing but i have to be brutally honest with myself, i was playing badly afterwards. Overplaying strong hands through fear of being outdrawn, playing medium strength hands too weakly and allowing myself to be outdrawn and taken off pots. I was playing like FGators and as anyone who reads 2+2 will know, this is a way to break even at best.

I took a couple of months off from poker as i had fallen out of love with the game. I couldn’t remember the last time i had anything good to say about poker. I threw myself into Football Manager and PS3 to pass the time. My 2 month sabatical was up at the beginning of October and having lead Everton to the Premiership and Champions League double along with taking Port Vale to the Premiership title i was ready to restart my love affair with poker.

I decided i was going to switch to 6 max as i usually played full ring, and i was going to start off at stakes that i could play without feeling pressure of large daily swings. I started on 8th October at 25c/50, 4 tabling initially and moved up to 6 tabling once i had improved my concentration levels after such a long layoff.

I have to say that i’ve really enjoyed the last few weeks poker, i wish i’d switched to 6-max months ago. People can’t hide behind set mining and peddling thenuts all day.

I am just moving up to $0.50/$1 this week and hopefully my success and enjoyment of the game will continue. I will be updating regularly on my probable rollercoaster journey back to the limits that used to be my bread and butter.
