So I had a date tonight

For those of you that aren't keeping up with the sexytime containment thread, you may not be aware of the fact that while up in Davis two weeks ago to visit my best poker buddy the-terp-formerly-known-as-CA, who attends law school there, I met a classmate ("Emily") who is a big cutie and kinda nerdy and very cool. We met on Saturday night, I facebook friended her when we got back to terp's and asked for her #, and we talked on the phone for like 3 hours on Tuesday night and set up a date for this weekend.

So, last night I went back up to Davis for a halloween party before our date, which she also attended; I wrote about that in the sexytime thread already, but cliff's notes = we make out a bit but she denies the sleepover.

Anyway, our big date was tonight! The plan was dinner and bowling cause we were having an argument about bumper lanes and whether they psychologically affect the quality of your throws, but we hadn't really decided on a restaurant. She said I could pick the kind of food and she'd pick the restaurant; I went with Italian and for a bit of authentic Sacramento flavor she picked the Old Spaghetti Factory downtown. We didn't discover until after we got there that it's actually a national chain with locations all over the place.

Anyway, we get food, I get a glass of wine but she doesn't like wine so she just sticks with water. Conversation is good, she's very smart and we have similar senses of humor. Food is good, after that she doesn't really sound that into the bowling plan so we decide to axe it and find our authentic Sacramento flavor at a place that actually is unique to Sacramento, which is a little dessert cafe with a lot of really tasty looking cakes. We share a piece of mint chocolate cake and head back to her place to play a card game; three-thirteen or something like that. It's like Gin, except you play a bunch of rounds where you make three-card hands, then four-card hands, then five, then six (where you can make a six card hand or two three card hands) etc all the way up to 13. She wins, but only because I don't understand the rules and unfairly assigned myself a ton of points that shouldn't have counted...so really, it was just on a technicality.

After that, and it's like 10:30pm or so? at this point, we just chill on the couch together and talk and make out for a long time. Nothing too raunchy, just cuddling while her kittens jump on us to get in on the lovefest. I head home (beat: 1.5hr drive, beat: work this morning) around 1am or so; no sexytime (obviously, if she doesn't even want me sleeping over), but I'm probably not even going to post if/when that does happen cause it would be a little too disrespectful. We made plans to see each other next weekend and it sounds like we might have a regular thing going on here.

Hopefully she'll actually let me sleep over next time so that terp doesn't have to keep pretending like he's gonna have to give me his couch every time I come visit for the purpose of seeing her. Seems kinda middle-school-ish, no? [img]/images/graemlins/tongue.gif[/img]
