I call that all day. He ain't got no bare 8, and if he had AQ or QQ or 88, too bad, but there's still AA/KK/JJ,TT,99 and even AK and diamond draws you can beat.

The check is okay with 2 still around, but a 3/4 psb would have been okay too.

I like the call. you want to keep the other big stack in. I like the whole hand, except you should push the river. The turn bet is not something to fear, it's what you want here.

Imagine playing it a million times over exactly like this. Think about how they've played and what hands they'd play that way. You'll see you'll come out ahead after a million times, and not by a little.

That's a fold on the river, clearly.

I can't see myself folding here for over 3-1, this really doesn't look like an 8. If he has the 8 and is willing to raise the flop, he's probably going to raise hero's bet on the turn too.

I think you need to call this river. You only need to be good here 20% of the time.

22 games 0.005 secs 4,400 games/sec

Board: 8h 8s 4d Qd Qc
Dead:

equity win tie pots won pots tied
Hand 0: 54.545% 54.55% 00.00% 12 0.00 { 4h4s }
Hand 1: 45.455% 45.45% 00.00% 10 0.00 { QQ+, 88, AQs, AQo }

I also think you need to lead the flop.

Given villain's stats and the preflop action I doubt he has an 8 and unless he has quads I doubt he has a Q either. Also, people make absolutely ridiculous bluffs on boards like this with like AK. Therefore, call.
