I did a search on my name. Preflop, limping is playable, but I wouldn't do it with this hand and stack size. I don't see anything wrong with as played or a smaller raise. You could open push, which is only slighly cEV+.

[/ QUOTE ]

What assumed calling range is making shoving only slightly +cEV?

Someone has JJ-AA about 12% of the time, and they are almost always calling.

i definitely raise 500 or less preflop

on the flop here in a standard 109 FO, i'm split between c/s and c/f, depending on my feel of the opponent. i'd definitely take a quick look at their pokerdb while making up my mind.

[/ QUOTE ]
I don't have any problem with a raise to 500 or less, but why is a raise to 600 bad. The main problem I see with it is it puts you on a hand that is calling a reraise.

Can anyone think of hands he flats pf as a good line? 99? Meh, with your stacksize bond I kinda give villian less credit for being competent in the preflop flatcall. I think whatever he has he should 3bet or fold pf. Anywho, given that, I like c/s over c/f on the flop.

Keeps the pot smaller and gives us more space for maneuvering

More space for maneuvering??? What difference does it make on the flop if the pot is 1300 instead of 1500? You mean we can comfortably bet/fold in the first case but not the second? Not much room for playing poker so I don't like the word 'maneuvering' here.

I vote for open-limping or making a smaller raise which looks like one we can get away from. In Hero's case I'm just lost...

I probably bet-fold 800 in this situation. There’s too much in the pot to give it up, but too many hands we beat can make our lives miserable if we check, especially since we’re up against the big stack. C/c and c/r are both too committing given the terrible board (when we c/c we’re often facing a bigger bet than 800, so leading out is sort of like a blocking bet).

Also, it’s unlikely KT/KJ/JJ will fold, but it would be a nice bonus if they do.

Pre-flop, limp/400/500/open-shove > 600 > fold.

unfortunately check/fold
i think a lot of smaller pairs will check it down with you and there are a lot of draws and made hands that wont fold to a bet

I check/shove here (most of the time)

Yeti theorem in play, and villain's range misses this flop most of the time. Villain has AJ, AT, and pairs we beat often.

Maybe this is why I suck but:

Fire out a c-bet, fold to raise, if called check-fold turn unless improved.

[/ QUOTE ]
