Random question: Is there a specific reason this forum doesn't have a Monthly Results thread? Many of the other ones seem to have such a thread.

yeah, we don't get caught up in results.

actually i haven't a clue what a "results thread" is. as i am a man of the people, for the people if it's wanted we'll get it.

Yeah, cause nobody wins---at least online. We just pass the money back and forth with other TAGs. It is not so bad once you get used to it. [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

Well the concept of the thread is simple really....At the beginning of a month (say, september) a thread called "August Results" is posted. People post how they did in August, either with numbers or graphs or whatever. It is often inspiring, as some ran hot and you can say "oooooo, i could run that good this month", and often comforting, as some ran cold and you can say "wow, that guy is clearly better than me, and he didn't make any money this month". It can of course also be depressing or a bit of a brag.

Another thread which many forums have that is the dual of the results thread is the "goals". So at the end of august, we'd start that and I'd post something like "My goal for September is to play 40 hours of live 6/12 and run at 1 bb/hour" (curiously, this is in fact exactly my goal).

Just a thought. As for playing online and passing the money around, that stuff's for the birds. Play live, take problem gambler's paychecks. They don't mind, really. They just keep calling two cold....

On Friday night (August 31st) I had a 3 hour, 40 big bet heater, quintupling my profit for the month. Funny how that works out.

Honestly though, the "goals" and "results" thread seems to be a nice way to keep track of how you and others are doing.
