Default ESPN Enhances WSOP Coverage

Full article on cardplayer.com:

http://www.cardplayer.com/poker-news/article/8950

Basically, to summarize, the planned enhancements include:

- Increase from 26 to 40 cameras for better coverage
- Plan to broadcast in HD for the first time
- 32 one-hour episodes in total (10 bracelet events, 16 Main Event episodes, and 6 $50K HORSE episodes... in that order)
- Player chip counts during hands (Thank the Lord!!)
- Some sort of new 3-D graphic that displays holecards, community cards, and players' actions

Hopefully they'll put this up (minus hold cards of course) for the spectators in real time. The overhead cam on the board was a good improvement last year and adding some chip stacks and action might make live poker marginally watchable.

Swear I'm not. I enjoy it for the same reason I enjoy reading Bluff magazine. It's not the most intelligent commentary in the world from a poker perspective, but it's fun and goes well with the broadcast. I don't know, I guess I stand alone here.
