Default 33 dollar turbo NLTRN big blinds hand

Hero has 1568

Villain 1432

I'm in the small bind, the blinds are 50-100.

I have QhTh and minraise to 200. I've minraised once before, he has called and lead into me I called we check checked turn and I fired on a King river and he folded.

He calls minraise.

Flop (pot 400)

Ah9s8s

He leads out for 300 I wait a few seconds and shove meaning he has to call about 932.

My reasoning is he has been very aggressive in these bigger blinds, I'm almost certain he would shove any ace over me preflop. He will give me credit on a shove for the ace IMO and will fold an 8 or 9 here. I have a outs if my read is off but the only thing I see him calling with here is a flush draw.

Villain is a 2+2er, apparently reads this forum and knows who I am. He's played me before and I won, but he is one of the better players I've faced in a 33. He has an ROI of 8% with an average stake of 45 or so and he seems to be 3 tabling today.

As far as the match went so far, I have been in control for the most part so far, he has played pretty tight in the BB in the first 2-3 levels and probably close to 35% raise OTB in sb, maybe 45% tops. I've been raising probably a third to a half more than he has from the button in the first two levels but this is my third raise at this level from the small blind in 8 possible opportunities.

Also, if villain is reading this, please feel free to respond with thoughts or PM me your thoughts if you don't want to post. Thanks.

I can think of worse places to bluff. I wouldn't do this often. Given your read, I like it.

if u have it in your heart to bluff this hand regardless of the board, shouldn't you be raising to 300-ish preflop? I mean, why make it so easy for him to shoot for ur stack?

This is an excellent point.

Nah, he's not getting tricky or hasn't been, he's just been fairly aggressive and I feel he'd raise any ace over the top of my PF raise, any PP too. I don't think he sees this raise as a sign of weakness either since I haven't raised a ton at this blind level, which is why he'll give me credit for the ace here IMO. I know this sounds contradictory but I doubt he's coming over the top without a hand here, he'd be more inclined to be the aggressor in the hand with a weaker hand, ala if I had limped or he were in the SB.

No need to raise another 100 here, I'd probably be more inclined to raise to 300 if I were card dead and picked up 23o.

FWIW I generally minraise or raise to 225 in this blind level.

Wow, nice analysis. That was a crazy hand! A strange bet from me there. I guess I tried to represent the ace, but you were right about shoving any Ax preflop. Meh.
I wouldn't bet an 8 or 9 here because then I would feel committed to call a shove (lots of draws). OESD or FD I would normally c/r all in also. The Ace on the flop made me feel like betting out in this spot. I am not used to a thinking opponent at the 33s obv.

So I guess my range is 40% air, 50 draws%, 10% two pair.

300 also is a bit too much. 200-225 would be a better bet with air there I think.

Lee got pretty creative with the turn and river. You gonna show the HH?

PS: First post! Read quite a few posts here in the last months, thanks for all the great posts guys and thank you for dragging me to the forum, ChicagoRy!

Hehe, I think I will remember your name next time.
You're pretty difficult to play against. Keep up the good work!
