Default Ideas I\'ve had but don\'t plan to persue them so ...

I'll start it off.

Late service/spot availability alert service. Company name: SX

Imagine this:

Restuarants maintain a database of customers on SX's website.

Someone cancels a booking. Restuarant informs SX. SX sends out an alert via SMS/email that a table is free in 2 hours time to customers that may be interested. They may choose to alert those who have come in at a similar time and day in the past.

Simple yet effective.

This service would prove to be useful to a wide range of businesses for numerous purposes.

I think the idea has a lot of holes in it. If it's not a popular restaurant, and they want to attract customers to fill open spots...it isn't a popular restaurant so people aren't going to choose it over where they already planned on going because a spot opened up.

If it is a popular restaurant, they won't have any trouble filling those 2 spots in 2 hours by people just calling for availability.

I think if your ideas do not exite you enough to take actions they arent going to do much for us either.

I actually disagree with this... in general...

There are many reasons why one person may choose to discard a project idea.

However, when you share your ideas... whether you personally choose to persue them or not... several things can happen...

Others may think the idea is interesting or have a slightly different view or suggestion, that may take the idea from one that doesn't sound so good, to one that has potential.

For example... recently someone was talking here about selling their restaurant directory... this idea of providing seating availability info could be a potential add-on offering to a site like that.

There is alot of value in brainstorming!!!

I actually like hearing about these ideas. I am happy to poke holes or support biz ideas.

This website seems to serve pretty much the same needs but with a much better format.
