The A's fleeced the Cardinals for Mulder.

[/ QUOTE ]

If Barton ever learns to hit for power, the deal may rival the Liriano deal.

I still dont understand the Felipe Lopez/Kearns/Ryan Wagner deal last year. I know the Reds wanted to make the playoffs by improving the bullpen, but why the hell pay so much for 2 mediocre Pen guys?

Roger Clemens:

February 18, 1999: Traded by the Toronto Blue Jays to the New York Yankees for Homer Bush, Graeme Lloyd, and David Wells.

[/ QUOTE ]
I'm pretty sure Clemens was a FA the next year.
However David Wells for Mike Sirotka who never pitched an inning in the MLB after the trade.

Wells pitched for a couple of months, got hurt and then became a FA at the end of the year for the ChiSox.

Bartolo Colon and Tim Drew for Grady Siezemore, Cliff Lee, Brandon Phillips and Lee Stevens.

[/ QUOTE ]

Also a tribe fan, so this one came to my mind first. That was to the Expos right?
Too bad Brandon Phillips couldn't hit in cleveland so we dumped him for basically nothing.

The Clemens trade was the result of the Tim Johnson scandal.
