Default dell 30\" monitor question

hi,

i know, that you need a dual dvi graphicscard for getting the highest resolution on a 30" dell.
if i am satisfied with a resolution of 1600x1200,will a non dual dvi card work as well?if yes, would i then need an adapter to plug it into my old card, which hasnt a dvi input option(geforce fx 5200)?

thx for your help

No and you dont need a dual DVI card, you need a dual LINK DVI card which is a completely different thing. Also, you will need to run that monitor at its native resolution.
