Default Mandatory AIM security update?

This morning when I attempt to log onto AIM my sign on fails and the following IM pops up from AOL System Msg. "AOL System Msg (10:16:40 AM): AIM Software Update: Hey there! Thanks for signing on. AIM service will apply a mandatory security update. Start the update process now." "Start the update process now" is a link to presumably a harmless mandatory security update and it seems as though I can not log onto AIM untill I do this. Should I not be worried and click away? Or would this be death to my computer and accounts?

Thanks Computer Tech help!

Default Re: Mandatory AIM security update?

go to aim.com and download them directly from there or just download the latest version... This is probably legit but just be on the safe side and go to the website and make sure your anti-virus is running and up to date.
