Guy comes off like a great guy. really classy. benyamine looks pretty pathetic, and in debt.

to think if Guy had checked that set of Jacks, Benyamine would have likely won a 1mill+ pot a couple episodes ago

variance is sick sick stuff

he saves a lot more than 75k in equity, the pot is about 1.22mm and benyamine has 35% equity in that and 600k to start the hand, so his expected loss in the hand is about 173k. on the other hand if guy just takes his 40k raise, then he loses about 45k.

[/ QUOTE ]
But he only "saves" 64.4% of the $$$ Guy did not take. by the time the 165k is factored in, calling his remaining 435k or so is essentially flipping a coin.

[/ QUOTE ]

benyamine doesn't put the 165k in, he shoves over guy's raise and it never gets put into the 'pot', which is what guy is referring to when he offers to just take the pot. what you're referring to is a different proposition than what eventually gets settled on.

Like a lot of people already said, very nice of Guy to let David off the hook. Obviously David did have some equity but I think that running it for 1.2m is what really scared David, especially with only a flush draw (obviously). So funny how worthless 1.2m is for someone like Guy.

I think it's pretty simple here...If you can't afford to lose your whole 600k buyin, you should not play.

Ego is the biggest problem for most of these guys...putting their whole BR on the table, but then acting like a pxxxy when it's time to gamble.

this is what is called passing on good karma, anyone have heard that hand where Thomas Wahlroos were splitting a pot willingly with Guy after Guy mucked his his hand by mistake.

[/ QUOTE ]

I also heard that Thomas was looking through a watch catalog at the table and was talking about an expensive watch in it that he wanted to buy, and the next day when he showed up to the game it was sitting on his chair. Guy bought it for him.

[/ QUOTE ]

source?

I think it's softplaying and thus mild collusion (even if one-way). The other players have some reason to be pissed off about as this is partially taking money off the table.

But I respect Guy for being such a generous guy, we need more people like that in the world.
