What is the long answer?

I have 2 "godchildren". No actual children of my own. I am no fan of the catholic church, to put it mildly. The rituals make me somewhat nausiated.

Anyways, I nearly skipped one of their confirmation ceremonies or whatever they call it. A big coming out affair where the kids are waltzed out in their little white robes, and such, to become members of the church. Official indoctrination I guess. Actually, I was strongly opposed, when I think back.

Basically, I put the desires of the people close to me ahead of my own. That's it. No mystery. I don't think your action was immoral. That is a little strong. In situations such as this, I see no conflict in rewarding those loyal to you with what amounts, to yourself, as personal inconvenience. That's how I see it anyways.
