Re: My computer goes slow - do I need more RAM or a better CPU?
Pokertracker, pokeroffice, freephg, mysql are all very cpu intensive programs. I can guarantee the CPU usage is from one of these and they are all programs he wants to run.

New comp. I am actually in the same boat as you really. If I could afford it right now I would totally get a new one too. The RAM should help, but you should consider using Black Friday as a shopping date for a new computer if you have the available funds.

I think the RAM helps because just after i used up the RAM capasity, the system went a lot slower.

While I agree those are CPU intensive programs, I'm not convinced that is his problem. CPU should not be maxing out like that. Highly suspect you have a buggy program somewhere.

Re: My computer goes slow - do I need more RAM or a better CPU?
The RAM chip helped alot!
The tables works a bit slower the more I play, but PAHUD dont lag anymore and the mouse moves smooth. |

More RAM will generally speed things up (up to a point).
This is a pretty good article about determining whether or not you have enough memory. http://www.microsoft.com/resources/docum...5.mspx?mfr=true |

You processor isn't the greatest, but trying to run these programs with less than a gig of ram is retarded. I would add even more if I was you.

Tried without pokeroffice now, (only PT and PAHUD and some scripts). Everything went fast, and the computer did never slowed down.
