I haven't spoken to GF for a while but I did enjoy our convos - he makes you think which is good for this game of situations that is unlimited bet holdem.

[ QUOTE ]

[x] Hero maximises EV, but we all known sklanksy bank is stuck in some sub-hand crisis similar to the US housing market right... and wont pay [censored].

[/ QUOTE ]

lol sklansky bux have -ve value cuz of the pissed element

[ QUOTE ]
what do you guys do for motivation to put the hands in.

I play almost everyday and I get in about 1k hands. Now the thing is that I 9 table...so this is barely over an hour of play.

I want to put in more time but I am just lacking the motivation to play longer sessions. Do any of you have any suggestions?

[/ QUOTE ]

I have had similar problems, but now I've got some more time .
It's a trade off between having a target which makes you get there and not playing in crap games just to get your hand count up. I suggest choosing a weekend and setting say a 4k target[attainable and achievable] over this period or a week.

Having a reasonable goal over a shortish period you'll often be tempted to bank more hands early and feel ahead and may get more in. Then when you hit it even if the $$$ aren't so good cuz of variance you still feel +ve which as we all now confidence is +ev.

Also read snowbanks SSNL well I asked him this question AFAIR.

Oh and have some days off - don;t get burnout feel like you want to play and if you don't feel up to it go play PS2 madden or REAL football or even rugby [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

Though fifa rugby is way more tilt inducing with mates cuz the [censored] players keep going offside.

Just back from 10 weeks in Peru and Bolivia and, damn, I'm ready to play.

Pretty sure I remember quitting poker right before the trip, but something about eating llamas, climbing on ancient ruins, and taking sick bike rides down 5000m volcanoes, all with poker money, really clears the head.

Don't have the heart to play full time anymore...with most of my leftover roll, I'm starting a low-key bicycle tour business from home, but I'm taking the rest and resuming grinding NL50. Poker is still less risky than half assed bizness ideas. Plus, I can admit it, I love microstake grinding. It rules. Moving up is for chumps.

I'm gonna be pissed in 5 years when inflation finally makes me have to play NL100...hopefully they will reclassify that as unl by then.

And I'm sure I'll laugh hysterically at this in a week when I re-read how absolutely excited I was to get back to the computer and play when I am deep in my first downswing, mumbling to myself, hitting walls and scaring the cats and girlfriend.

Wait, I just rememebered...I hate poker.

Question:

Again I'm reading a new poker book and again the author makes being a poker pro being something only for the extremely talented few and blah blah blah (I the background I hear Sklansky telling me he is an expert player .. blah blah)

I've always considered poker easy and myself more or less so-so average at this

Should I actually start having a huge ego and elevate myself ?????
