Oh no, Hellmuth about to win his 11th bracelet

The guy irritates the crap out me and I often wish someone would just slap him silly.

Yet, I find myself rooting for him to win. I watched the final table of the event he won lost year as well as the live telecast this year and found myself pulling for him the whole way.

Odd, am I alone?

Now that I think about it, didnt negreanu say he had a bet against hellmuth winning a bracelt in his last video blog? Could that be the bet with doyle?

Bingo, found it. It is 1:20 into the video. Hellmuth walks away from the camera and Negreanu says to the camera, "I have a bet against him to win a bracelet so im rooting against him, but dont tell him taht"

If this is a $400,000 bet with Doyle this would be some good gossip. I bet Doyle had some great odds on the bet too.

Yeeeahhhh... Matusow only made it deep in the ME 3 times in a decade, including a final table, then won the ToC and got 3rd the next year in it. Not to mention some strong WPT finishes and I'm sure some other feats I'm unaware of.
