Re: bottom 2 in awkward spot
This spot really isn't awkward yet. If you raise and get 2 calls, and the turn is an offsuit Q, then you're in an awkward spot. Here raising is really the only option: it's a great time to get money in when your bet could easily be one of a zillion draws/semibluffs.

[ QUOTE ]
getting it in to a 3bet by btn? 3bet by sb? [/ QUOTE ] yes/yes AA(3),TT/88(2),AT/A8(12) = 17 hands in the deck you're losing to. I'm not going to bother counting the number of draws and AK type hands that might decide to 3bet you, but they're a lot more numerous than 17. You're not looking to get 3 bet, and while a button reraise would be worrisome, a decent player will know how strong the bet looks and make it with a range of hands. Calling just sucks because there are SO many worse hands that will build a pot with you here. I'd expect to get called by a bunch of AQ type hands or draws and be able to build a fat pot on the turn if a blank falls and they aren't nits. Calling can only give you a chance to see a scare card fall and have trouble getting money in good. |

Re: bottom 2 in awkward spot
On the whole I think raising makes this hand easier. Btn needs a big hand to continue unless he wants to make a sick play.

Re: bottom 2 in awkward spot
god what a weird hand
i like the flop, easier to play != always most +EV or maybe not since a billion cards kill your action |
