If you're filing as a pro you can. If you like your coach, make sure they know that you plan to claim it as an expense. Otherwise they might get in trouble if they don't claim the income.

Speaking of filing as a pro, there was a question in this thread about a month ago regarding if a part-timer can file as a pro. It seemed to me no different than having a full-time job and running a small business on the side.

However, I recently purchased a book called, How to Turn Your Poker Playing Into a Business, by CPA Ann-Margaret Johnston and she said the IRS has consistently ruled a part-time gambler cannot file as a pro and this has held up in court every time.

She actually recommends not even having a part-time job outside of poker if you intend to file as a pro, never mind a full-time job.

It's a pretty good book to grab if you are able to file as a pro. (Obviously in the United States.)

I dont want to get into any sort of skill debate here but rain and space were about even in max tables played somewhere around 40 iirc.

And its def been done at the 6.50s, I was 20 tabling them earlier in the year.
