a knuckle-curve is actually crazier, but thats rarely seen

[/ QUOTE ]
Knuckle curve is not a crazy pitch at all, it's just a curve thrown off the fingertips instead of the sides of the fingers

a Knuckle Curve is not a pitch. It's just a curveball. It's like calling a 4 seemed fastball a different pitch than a 2 seemed fastballs, they are both fastballs.

I would call a four-seamer different from a two-seamer

Two-seamer = sinker/cutter

have any of you actually caught, called, or tried to hit a knuckle curve?

there are actually 3 types of knuckle-curves and i'm referring to the 2nd type- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Knuckle_curve

a good one is entirely unpredictable and can break in any direction, making it the weirdest pitch there is

Dustin hitting a 90 mph fastball and 100 mph is also evry different but that doesn't change the fact that theyre both fastballs. Im tired of peopel comign up with a different god damn name for every way someone throws a pitch. Soon no 2 pitches will be the same. There will be Santana fastballs, Beckat fastballs, Beckett curves, Glendon Rusch sinkers, etc

a knuckle curve is not "just a curve"

its harder to learn, it spins slower, and therefore behaves differently.

Jeezus, if the question was "pitch that practically no one ever throws", I'd have been all over it.
