Are you guys on Dell laptops? This has been brought up quite a few times and it seemed to be a Dell only thing. Maybe not. Thanks for posting the help email! Hopefully it works for me.

Exact same problem here. And yes, on a Dell D505. I also use the 'play a sound in WinAmp'-solution.

I also have this problem. It sucks trying to multitable. I upgraded my ram to 2Gigs thinking that it might be a memory problem but that didn't help.

The new upgrade to FT software did seem to help it a little for me the last time I played. It didn't happen during an hour session.

I have a dell Inspiron 9200.

For me, none of my computer sounds work until I restart my computer. The "power off" sound from windows works, but no sounds (PS, FTP, winamp, AIM, etc) work until I restart. I'll try getting new drivers.

This is what happens to me. I restart. The drivers on my soundcard are up to date. However DirectX is probably not so I am going to update that adn see what happens.

Happens on my Dell laptop too occasionally. I'll try the winamp method.

Wow, it's really unique to Dell laptops I guess. I'm on a Dell Inspiron 1200.

I have had this problem also, and I have a Dell laptop. I've had the sound drop out at FTP and Bodog also. Playing an mp3 in winamp usually fixes it for me, and now I keep an mp3 on the desktop so I can start it easily while multitabling.
