99 Iso-raise or fold?
This is one hands in Commerce $300 RB 250K GNT tournaments.
27 players all in the money. Avg stack 80K. 3000/6000/1000. A tight player utg opens for 20K, he has 60K behind. utg+1 bad player pushes all-in for 60K. Fold to you on the button with 99. You have 90K. ??? utg's range is definately AJ or better. given he's tight image and his FT plays, he may fold AQ even AK if we push. But not sure about JJ. |

(fold like a) suitcase. you are more than likely up against 4 overs here if not a higher pair.

Turbomuck. [/ QUOTE ] Agree. ---------------- I'm not trying to beat all the situations. But just add two things here: 1. utg is very tight. (meaning his raising range is tight AND he is capable of folding bottom of this raising ranges (TT,AJ,AQ) to a push after all-in and a push) 2. utg+1 sucks. (meaning he could do this push with ATo) |

Re: 99 Iso-raise or fold?
Too much guesswork for my liking. UTG might have a monster. So might UTG+1 even if he is a nit. The best you can wish for I think is UTG folding and it then being a coin flip. Fold.

Too much guesswork. [/ QUOTE ] That's my favorite part of the game. I benefit a lot from that. --------------- Anyway, I thought about 3 options: 1. Fold 2. Push off utg and HU with utg+1. sometimes, utg and utg+1's hands "locked up" with each other - they both have big Aces... 3. Call and shove a rag flop if utg checks to me. Considered other factors mentioned by posters in this thread, I fold. UTG thought for a while and called with AQo, UTG+1 showed KQo. flop 755 turn 8 river Ace. UTG said he'd fold if I push. |
