Default Turn cap? Any river fold of J set?

Villain is a reg TAG on PP 5/10 6 max, good TAG but not specially tricky

He raises in MP, I 3bet JJ on button, no cap, HU to the flop.

Flop comes Q J x, rainbow
I bet, TAG check-raises, I 3bet

Turn A w/ no FD
TAG bets, Hero raises, TAG 3bets, Hero ???

Also, suppose you cap, what's your action here when TAG gives some more action and bets rag river (bearing in mind he didn t cap preflop)? Anybody finds a fold here or is the pot just too huge?

Thx in advance for insight

I'd cap the turn, given the read, but just call a river bet if he leads. Obviously, go nuts if the river is a J. There's no card on the river that'll make me fold, but I'm not giving anymore action if it's an A/Q. If the river is a total brick, I could go either way, but I'd lean towards calling; while I don't think a raise is necessarily bad, I think a call might be a bit better given the read, but the decision really hinges on how aggressively he'll play draws.

i'd call the turn and raise the river if the board pairs.

if he's a good tag he will know:
with AQ he has you beat on this flop unless you have QQ or JJ. i guess QJ is not a 3bet vs. MP for you?
so why would he not cap the flop, but bet/3bet the river when he turns top two?

it's much more likely that he semibluffs with KT on the flop, turning the straight.

I've been thinking about it more, and reading the other replies, and I now think just calling his turn 3-bet is best. I don't know if I misread the action to begin with or what, but I screwed up somewhere.

Don't worry, didn t fold it ...
eventhough I posted this hand because I was annoyed not having managed to convince myself to fold bc my read was good (KT)=>

I mean, what else could he possibly have than KT(s)?????
given that :
- he didn't cap pre : AA QQ are out, also AQs probably, may be AQ
- he C/R flop but doesn t cap my 3bet
- he bets/3bets turn (A that completes straight)
- he leads river (rag)

So indeed, KTs he had... and I started having second thoughts then, and at the time it felt like spewing bc I HAD the read.

Thx for the replies and I agree with you all : I insta-didn t like my turn cap, and in retrospect I think folding is very hard here anyway.

sorry to bump

Forgot to mention I especially considered folding here because I *did* cap the turn and he still leads river...

You played the hand fine. I think it's close between capping and just calling down, but I prolly cap.

Also if I'm villian I'm probably c/ring the river rather than leading.
