the fact that secret of mana, final fantasy III and especially Chronotrigger, perhaps the greatest rpg of all time are not on your list is shocking.

Wrong system.

That had to be a level. If not, at least he's got great taste in SNES games.

I don't see how the finals can be anything other than Techmo Super Bowl vs Mike Tyson's Punchout

Nuff said. Techno Bowl today is completely unplayable. It was fun when you were a kid, but ever since the million Maddens and other series the genre has evolved way beyond it. Mario 3 on the other hand is still considered the pinnacle of 2D side scrolling platform games. That's why it was rehashed on the SNES and ten years later the GBA.

RBI Baseball should be on here (maybe it was eliminated?)

I'm biased toward the Tecmo Bowls and Blades of Steel because that is what my grandma had at her house when I used to go over.

[/ QUOTE ]

Apparently 2p2 and the rest of the world ranks Baseball Stars above RBI Baseball. We're out of luck I'm afraid.

I think it was you who made this same point in one of the other threads. And I said in response that I would rather play NES sports games with friends than play any NES adventure/RPG game by myself. Some of us who aren't advanced gamers like the simplicity of the old games.

I'm not against your argument that SMB3 should be regarded as the better game, but please stop telling us we would not enjoy playing NES sports games today. A lot of us still do.

How the hell is the US Mario 2 even on the poll?

[/ QUOTE ]

I was wondering the same thing. It's not even a true Mario game.

the fighting in blades of steel was awesome

This was the best part of the game. If you won the fight the other team went down a man for a little while until he recovered or whatever.

There was a soccer game for NES where if you slide-tackled the opponent succesfully they would fall down on the field injured. This was easy to do so there were usually a few players scaterred around the field. They were little chunky guys, so if anyone knows what game I'm talking about, please let me know.
