Default Trouble making signature

I'm trying to put a signature in my profile:
Sign the Petition to Repeal Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act
but every time I press submit it says "your password is too long", whether I type in a password or not (I tried it both ways). How can I get this to work?

The real answer is that signatures are disabled. It says the password is too long but what it means is that the number of characters allowed in a signature is set to zero.

Signatures are stupid. They should be banned from the internets.

Of course this will change as your post counts grows. Originally you start with 0 characters and eventually the limit will increase.

You have to have at least 1000 posts to have a signature. Most of us feel bad that this requirement really hinders newer posters 2p2 experience so we refuse to set signatures even though we can.

You need to be banned from ATF IMO.
