Default gardening log

This weekend, purchased five pots, a glass vase, a sansevieria, a pothos, an asian plant that I lost the little stake for and now I don't know what it is, and potting stones.

Repotted one sansevieria (now I hear I'm not to use fine sand in the potting mix), the pothos- very root-bound and had to cut away a lot of the root ball, and the now-unnamed asian plant- also root bound with some rot setting in. I figure I've killed all three plants.

I'm going to let the repotted plants sit at home for a week. I'm going to use the vase to start a cutting from a pothos we have at home and bring the other two sansevieria I have into work.

I'll be interested to see what survived when I get back to work on Monday.

'That corpse you planted last year in your garden,
'Has it begun to sprout? Will it bloom this year?
'Or has the sudden frost disturbed its bed?
'Oh keep the Dog far hence, that's friend to men,
'Or with his nails he'll dig it up again! 75

The mystery plant is a nepthytis, or a "maria" plant:

It's South American, not Asian. Same difference. All three repotted plants continue to live.
