Default Which of these Sci-Fi authors are worth reading?

My friend's roommate left a bunch of books behind when she moved to london, she told me these are the authors of those books (don't have book names unfortunately). Any of these people worth reading?

Christopher Stasheff
L.E. Modesitt
Robert Asprin
Rymond E.Feist
Guy Gavriel Kay
Melanie Rawn
Mercedes Lackey
Anne McCaffrey
Lawrence Watt-Evans

Robert Asprin is comical, but very.... simple. I think I enjoyed his books a ton at 15, not so much now.

These appear to be primarily fantasy authors as opposed to sci-fi. I did read feist a long time ago -- the early riftware saga stuff is fairly good.

L.E. Modesitt has written a ton of books -- most are fantasy I think though some sci-fi. I did read a sci-book called The Octagonal Raven, nothing special as I recall.

There was a reason why these books were left behind.

Feist's stuff is decent. Aspirin is silly, but not awful...gotta be in the right mood for it.

Stasheff and Aspirin are fairly light hearted and simple reads.

Modesitt has written a whole series of books that are out of sequence and sometimes hard to read if you haven't read them in the right order. But, pretty decent reading, if a bit moralistic.

Feist is definitely worth reading, almost everything he's written.

Depending on the series, Anne McCaffrey is pretty good reading too.

Melanie Rawn is one of my favorites, and you should make whichever book(s) your priority out of this list.

I don't particularly care for any of the other three authors, though I haven't read much from any of them.

Feist is excellent, certainly his first Riftwar saga + the Empire books with Wurts.

GGK has some good stuff, in particular Tigana is excellent.
