Re: Nice/Romantic Restaurants in Seattle?
Yeah, Elliot's is a madhouse- not very romantic. The food is damned tasty though.
I would avoid the Melting Pot. The food is ok, but sweet jesus it is expensive for what you get. If I am gonna spend north of $100 for 2 people in a restaurant, I will go somewhere that cooks my food for me, thanks. |

Le Gourmand
Jak's in West Seattle Do take the advice on CitySearch re: quickness of service. They don't care if you have a linger but it might feel rushed if they don't know that is what you are in for. My favorite steaks in town. Ponti Seafood Grill Serafina Saito |

Rover's Le Gourmand El Gaucho and Cafe Juanita are also excellent. The Met has good food, but its busy atmosphere wouldn't be quite as conducive to a romantic evening. Fun place to people watch though. [/ QUOTE ] not a Seattle guy so I have not been to any of these places except Metropolitan Grill. We went there a while back when Canlis was closed for something. I thought it sucked in many respects. The service wasn't that great and all the food except for the steak was pretty bad IMO. The steak was very good; I thought mine was better than my wife's but forget exactly what we had. Good wine list. I guess the people watching was OK if you like watching people in flip flops and tank tops talk on cell phones during the meal. Maybe that is standard now tho. Anyway, we had a bunch of good food in Seattle, but not there. |

If you were looking to totally ball, I've heard good things about both Union and Mistral.

Melting Pot Metropolitan Grill (only if you have obtained baller status) Elliots (seafood! and on the water!) and... Red Robin on Pier 55 (just kidding!) [/ QUOTE ] Just did the Melting Pot for the aniv. myself. It's kinda cool to do something different. The Red Robin on the pier is good to go to at night as they seem to get less traffic than, say, the Northgate one because the mall obv...not that it's a good aniv. date thing. The parking is free and easy, too. |

Maybe better suited for a nice birthday dinner, new job celebration, etc. Best steaks around, and the UFO potato option is awesome. |

Re: Nice/Romantic Restaurants in Seattle?
the food at Palisades is good+not great, but its got a romantic atmosphere if that factors into your decision-making.
I like Canlis & the Met. If you're shelling out $$ like this, you might like to check out Rovers or the Georgian Room or the Herbfarm. trip report whereever you go, pls! |

Re: Nice/Romantic Restaurants in Seattle?
I was in town last week and ended up going to an Indian restaurant in Bellevue called Mayuri (I think?). It's just down the street from Crossroads Mall. Neither my girlfriend nor I liked Indian food or really had much of it before, but we stuffed our faces both times we went. Incredible food. Doubtful it's what you're looking for, but it's easily the best food I've had in a long time.
